Activity on the ZSE in January 2020

Trading statistics for January 2020 show an average daily turnover of EUR 1.6m (+118% YoY). Meanwhile, the major index CROBEX ended January with an increase of 1.19% ending at 2,041.52 points.

The Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) published their trading statistics for January 2020, showing a total equity turnover of EUR 11.95m (HRK 262.9m). This translates to an average daily turnover of EUR 1.6m (+118% YoY).

Of the total value traded in the period in January (excluding block transactions), HT generated 24%. Adris preferred comes second, accounting for 11%. Next come Optima Telekom and Valamar Riviera with 8% and 7%, respectively. Optima Telekom follows with 6.8%. These 5 shares generated 57.3% of the turnover recorded by the entire (equity) market, excluding block transactions.

When observing the total equity market capitalization, it observed an increase of 12.6% YoY, amounting to HRK 150.52bn. Ina’s share is the biggest constituent of the total exchange’s equity market capitalization, accounting for about 20.9% of the total value. Next, come two Croatian banks – Zagrebačka banka and PBZ with 13.5% and 11.5%, respectively. Further, HT holds 10% while Adris accounts for 3.6% of the total market capitalization value.

When compared to the beginning of the month the main index CROBEX witnessed a solid 1.19% increase, ending at 2,041.52 points. The highest increase of all sector indexes was realized by CROBEXnutris of 2.76%. On the flip side, CROBEXkonstrukt recorded a decrease of 8.15%.  

Activity on the LJSE in January 2020

Trading statistics for January 2020 show an average daily turnover of EUR 1.85m (+131% YoY).

The Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) published their trading statistics for January 2020, showing a total equity turnover of EUR 38.86m. This translates to an average daily turnover of EUR 1.85m (+131% YoY).

Of the total value traded in the period (excluding block transactions), Krka generated 50.4%, followed by Petrol with 11.5%. Next come Save Re with 10.1% and  Triglav with 8.7%. NLB follows with 8.3%. These 5 shares generated 89% of the turnover recorded by the entire (equity) market, excluding block transactions.

When observing the total equity market capitalization, it amounts to EUR 7.37bn (+13.9% YoY).  Krka’s share is the biggest constituent of the total exchange’s equity market capitalization, accounting for about 33.9% of the total value. Next, comes NLB with 17.4%. Further, Petrol holds 11.1% while Triglav accounts for 11% of the total market capitalization value.

The main index of the stock exchange, SBI TOP, recorded a sharp increase of 4.9%, ending the month at 971.49 points.  Such a high increase could be attributed to a solid share price performance of all Slovenian blue chips, as visible on the graph below.

Activity on the BELEX in January 2020

In January, the Belgrade Stock Exchange observed an average daily turnover of EUR 0.38m.

The Belgrade Stock Exchange reported a turnover of EUR 7.6m in January 2020 (when observing solely equity). This would translate to an average daily turnover of EUR 0.38m, representing an increase of 81%.

In January, the most traded share (excluding block transactions) was NIS with a turnover of EUR 0.59m. Next come Komerijalna Banka with EUR 0.35m and Messer Tehnogas with EUR 0.14m. However, it is noteworthy that the most traded share was Excelsior with a single block trade of EUR 5.6m.

When observing gainers of the BELEX 15 index, AERO recorded the highest increase of 7.52%, followed by Impol Seval with an 3.54% increase. Messer Tehnogas comes next with an increase of 2.52%. On the flip side, Jedinstvo recorded the highest decrease of 5.69%.

Turning our attention to BELEX15, the index observed an increase of 0.81%, ending at 808.22 points.
