Activity on the ZSE in October 2019

Trading statistics for October 2019 show an average daily turnover of EUR 2.01m (+70% YoY). Meanwhile, the major index CROBEX ended October with an increase of 1.45% ending at 1,991.98 points.

The Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) published their trading statistics for October 2019, showing a total equity turnover of EUR 44.3m. This translates to an average daily turnover of EUR 2.01m (+70% YoY).

Such a high increase could once again be attributed to Kraš, whose share was still in the spotlight, recording a turnover of HRK 47.56m in October. As a reminder, in September Kraš observed an extremely high turnover of HRK 370.5m (+HRK 369.5m MoM) during which Kappa Star Limited acquired almost a quarter of the company.

Of the total value traded in the period (excluding block transactions), Kraš generated 19.9%, followed by Adris with 9.2%, HT with 9.1%, Podravka with 7.7%, Liburnia Riviera Hoteli with 6.8%. These 5 shares generated roughly half of the turnover recorded by the entire (equity) market, excluding block transactions.

It is also important to mention in early October, EBRD sold their 2% stake in Atlantic Group at HRK 1,170 per share, which was a block transaction of HRK 78.02m (EUR 10.5m). 

When observing the total equity market capitalization, it observed an increase of 8.6% YoY, amounting to HRK 148.1bn. Ina’s share is the biggest constituent of the total exchange’s equity market capitalization, accounting for about 21.5% of the total value. Next, come two Croatian banks – Zagrebačka banka and PBZ with 13.3% and 10.9%, respectively. Further, HT holds 9.4% while Adris accounts for 3.8% of the total market capitalization value.

When compared to the beginning of the month the main index CROBEX witnessed an increase of 1.45%, ending at 1,991.98 points. Meanwhile, CROBEXnutris once again observed the highest increase of 4.57% of all sector indexes. On the flip side, CROBEXindustrija recorded a decrease of 4.83%, which mostly came on the back of the poor share price performance of Đuro Đaković.

Activity on the LJSE in October 2019

Trading statistics for October 2019 show an average daily turnover of EUR 0.91m (+22% YoY).

The Ljubljana Stock Exchange (ZSE) published their trading statistics for October 2019, showing a total equity turnover of EUR 19.95m. This translates to an average daily turnover of EUR 0.91m (+22% YoY).

Of the total traded value traded in the period (excluding block transactions), Krka generated 49.3%, followed by Petrol with 12.7%, Triglav with 11.7%, NLB with 7.1%, Sava Re with 5.7%. These 5 shares generated 86.5% of the turnover recorded by the entire (equity) market, excluding block transactions.

When observing the total equity market capitalization, it amounts to EUR 6.44bn. Krka’s share is the biggest constituent of the total exchange’s equity market capitalization, accounting for about 32.3% of the total value. Next, comes NLB with 17%. Further, Petrol holds 11.3% while Triglav accounts for 11.2% of the total market capitalization value.

When compared to the beginning of the month the main index SBI TOP recorded a slight decrease of 0.13%, ending at 853.56 points.

MedLife Acquires Micromedica Medical Center

With this acquisition, the Group reaches a portfolio of 26 acquired companies.

MedLife published an announcement on the Bucharest Stock Exchange announcing that they acquired the majority share of Micromedica Medical Center, one of the most important providers of private medical services in Moldova.

Micromedica has been active on the private healthcare market since 1995 and offers patients a wide range of investigations, from multidisciplinary consultations for over 28 medical specialties and laboratory services, to complex imaging investigations. The group comprises of six medical units located in the cities of Piatra Neamț, Bacău, Roman, Bicaz, Roznov and Târgu Neamț, all equipped with high-quality medical equipment.

With this acquisition, MedLife Group reaches a portfolio of 26 acquired companies, the latest one announced being Romanian Lotus Hospital, the most important provider of private medical services in Prahova county.
