YTD Share Price Performance of Regional Companies by Sector
For today we are bringing you an overview of the share price performance of various sectors in the regional market for 2021 so far.

For this, we observed primarily the median YTD share price performance of companies in our wider coverage from Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Romania and Serbia.

End of 2020 was marked by a positive sentiment on the regional equity markets, following the vaccine development, while the similar trend seems to be the case so far in 2021 as well, given that virtually all observed industries being in green YTD (except Construction).

Observing the graph below, we see that 2 out of 12 sectors observed a double-digit increase and one has observed a triple digit increase. Of that, the Shipping sector has the largest increase with the median YTD share price rising 115%. Of the Croatian companies within our sample, Atlantska Plovidba observed a high YTD increase of 149.7%.

The second strongest performance can be seen in the Energy sector with the median YTD share price rising 17.6%. Insurance follows with an increase of 13.7%, while Sava Re leads the list of gainers (+24.9% YTD).

On the flip side, Construction sector leads the losers with a slight decrease of 0.7%.

SBITOP Converging Towards 1,100 Points
The index was not seen at these levels for more than 11 years.

SBITOP yesterday noted a slight increase of 0.31%, continuing its positive sentiment in 2021. The index closed at 1,091.83 which is quite close towards 1,100 points mark (0.7% increase left). We note that the index was not seen in these levels for more than 11 years.

The index has increased by 59.3% compared to 2020 lows and is also up by 21.3% YTD. When looking at daily movements of the index, one can note that SBITOP closed in green for more than 2 thirds of the time.

On a YTD basis virtually all SBITOP constituents have observed a double-digit increase, with NLB leading the gainers (29.7%).
