In August BET increased by 2.77% YoY, closing at 12,177.31 points.

The Bucharest Stock Exchange continued its positive sentiment in August, with BET noting an MoM increase of 2.77% (closing at 12,177.31 points). The total equity turnover in August 2021 reached EUR 159.02m, which translates into an average daily turnover of EUR 7.2m.

Banca Transilvania noted the highest turnover in August of RON 228.1m, followed by the OMV Petrom with a total turnover of RON 139.6m and Romgaz with a total turnover of RON 48.9m.

When observing the index constituents, 11 of 17 ended the month in green, with Teraplast leading the list with +22.7%. Nuclearelectrica and OMV Petrom follow with +7.36% and +6.28%, respectively.  On the flip side, Electrica leads the losers with a decrease of 8.29%. As a result of the above-mentioned, BET noted a solid increase of 2.77%, ending the month at 12,177.31 points. This also puts the index at a very solid +24.2% YTD.
