In 2018, Optima Telekom observed an increase in revenues of 11% YoY, increase in EBITDA of 20% YoY and a net income of HRK 4.5m which is by HRK 63.4m higher than in 2017. Note that the good performance compared to 2017 could be attributed to the consolidation of H1 Telekom.
As Optima Telekom published their 2018 preliminary results, we are bringing you some key takes from the report. According to it, in 2018, the company recorded an increase in revenues of 11% YoY, amounting to HRK 547.3m. Total revenue from telecommunication services increased by 7.8% YoY. This increase could be mostly attributed to the consolidation of H1 Telekom in 2018. An increase in revenues could also be attributed to higher revenues from multimedia (+18.6% YoY) and revenues from internet (+16.3%).
Further, Optima Telekom’s EBITDA amounted to HRK 126.5m, which is an increase of 20% YoY. A rise in EBITDA could be attributed to the above-mentioned consolidation of H1 Telekom.
Turning our attention to net income, it amounted to HRK 4.5m, which is by HRK 63.4m higher than in 2017, when the company observed a net loss of HRK -58.8m. This could be explained as the company had, during the merger of H1 Telekom in 2017, made impairment of goodwill and trademark.
In 2018, Optima Telekom observed an increase in CAPEX of 72% YoY, amounting to HRK 85.7m. Investing in expanding the services being offered to the customers accounted for the biggest portion of the total amount (HRK 40.2m)
