In July 2022, SBITOP declined by 2%, ending the month at 1,140.99 points.
The total equity turnover on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange amounted to EUR 26.47m, which represents a decrease of 6.8% MoM, but an increase of 25% YoY. This would also mean that during the month, the average daily turnover amounted to EUR 1.26m.
If we were to exclude the block transactions from this turnover, then the total turnover amounted to EUR 26.05m which is a decrease of 15.9% YoY and 21.5% MoM.
Looking at the top 5 most traded stocks, they had a turnover of EUR 23.04m, which would account for 87% of the total turnover which is not surprising for the Slovenian market. Breaking this down further, Slovenia’s heavyweight Krka had the highest turnover, at EUR 11.28m (or 42.6%), followed by NLB with 5.52m (or 20%), Petrol with 10%, Sava Re with 7.4%, and Cinkarna Celje with 5.9%.
When it comes to prices, Slovenia’s main index SBITOP decreased by 2% during the month and ended at 1,140.99 points. At the same time, SBITOP TR decreased by 4.52% and ended the month at 1,404.19 points.
Looking deeper at the SBITOP constituents’ performance during the month, five out of ten companies have recorded gains, while the other five declined. Petrol is leading the gainers with 8% due to ongoing favorable oil and commodity prices. Followed by Triglav with 5.6%, Cinkarna Celje with 3.7%, Krka with 3%, and Unior with 1%. The biggest decline in July 2022 was by NLB bank by 6.3%, followed by Telekom Slovenije with 2.6%, Salus with 2%, Luka Koper and Sava Re, with mild losses of 1.2%.

When it comes to YoY performance, SBITOP has remained mostly flat with a slight 2.4% decline. SBITOP TR recorded a gain of 4.7%. Looking deeper at the Slovenian SBITOP index, 6 companies declined while 4 gained. The biggest gain was recorded by Cinkarna Celje, with a gain of 21.9%, followed by Petrol with 12.8%, Triglav with 11.8%, and Salus with 11.6%. The biggest losses were recorded by NLB with a 13.4% decline, followed by Unior with -12.2%, Krka with -11%, Sava Re with -10.2%, Telekom Slovenije with -5.2%, and lastly, Luka Koper, with -4% YoY.
