Croatian Tourism in March 2019

In March 2019, Croatia observed the arrival of 0.45m tourists (+2.1% YoY), while tourists nights amounted to 0.94m (-7% YoY).

Croatian Bureau of Statistics published a document about tourism in March 2019. According to the report, March recorded the arrival of 0.45m tourists, which represents an increase of 2.1% YoY. Meanwhile, tourist nights amounted to 0.94m, representing a decrease of 7%.

Domestic tourists observed an increase of 10% in arrivals and 11% in tourist nights. Meanwhile, foreign tourists recorded a decrease of 0.9% in arrivals and a 12.7% decrease in tourist arrivals.

In March, the most foreign tourist arrivals and nights were recorded by tourists from Germany (40 thousand arrivals and 105 thousand nights), which make up for 12.6% of the total foreign tourist arrivals and 15.6% of the total tourist nights. These were followed by the nights by tourists from Slovenia (11.8%), Austria (9.2%), Italy (5.7%), Bosnia and Herzegovina (5.5%), the USA (5.4%) and the Republic of Korea (5.3%).

The County of Istria observed the largest number of tourist nights in March 2019 (more than 219 thousand nights), which makes up for 23.2% of the total tourist nights. Although the County of Istria observed the most tourist nights, they observed a decrease of 14.8% in tourist arrivals and 23.7% in tourist nights.
