In January 2020, Croatia observed 0.23m tourist arrivals (+5.5%) and 0.64m tourist nights (+7.3%).
According to the Croatian Tourist Board, in January 2020, Croatia observed 226,949 tourist arrivals, representing an increase of 5.5%. Of that, foreign tourists account for 126,619 (+2.17%). Meanwhile, tourist nights amounted to 637,748, which is an increase of 7.32% YoY. Of that, foreign tourists account for 389,164 (+8.56%).
Tourists from Bosnia & Herzegovina recorded the most tourist nights, accounting for 9.9%. Tourists from Slovenia and Italy follow, accounting for 7.4% and 5.5%, respectively. Meanwhile most tourist arrivals were observed by tourist from Slovenija accounting for 7.4% of foreign arrivals.

When observing the arrivals and nights realized by the type of accommodation, one can observe that hotels lead the list with 156,265 arrivals (+1.4%) and 338,338 tourist nights (+3.2%). Such figures put hotels at 69% of total arrivals and 53% of total tourist nights. Private accommodation follows with 34,055 arrivals (+23.6%) and 162,239 tourist nights (+15.5%).
When observing the arrivals and nights realized by county, Zagreb witnessed the highest arrivals (27.05%) and tourist nights (20.7%). The counties of Istria and Kvarner follow, accounting for 13.5% and 12% of total arrivals, respectively. Meanwhile, when observing tourist nights, Istria and Kvarner account for 18.5% and 15.6%, respectively.
