The Bucharest Stock Exchange published their trading statistics for May 2019, showing an average daily turnover of EUR 9.78m. This represents an increase of 40.4% YoY.
When observing the top traded shares, one can notice that Banca Transilvania recorded the highest turnover of RON 207.8m. BRD Bank follows with a turnover of RON 181.31m. Romgaz and Electrica come next with a turnover of RON 138.7m and RON 97.4m, respectively.
Of the BET index components, Purcari observed the highest share price increase in May of 11.51%. Sphera Franchise Group follows with an increase of 10.79%. Next comes Nuclearelectrica with an increase of 9.82%. On the flip side, BRD Bank observed a decrease of 15.83%, which can partially be explained with the ex-dividend date passing (9 May) for a lucrative dividend.
In May, the BET index observed an increase of 0.61%, amounting to 8,491.13 points.
