Activity on the BELEX in June 2019

In June, the Belgrade Stock Exchange observed an average daily turnover of EUR 2.54m (+1613 YoY). Such a high increase in turnover could be mostly attributed to the purchase of 6.8% shares in Komercijalna Banka by the Serbian Government, which amounted to EUR 43.7m.

The Belgrade Stock Exchange reported a turnover of EUR 50.8m in June 2019 (when observing solely equity), which represents an increase of 1613% YoY. This would translate to an average daily turnover of EUR 2.54m. Note that such a high increase in turnover could be mostly attributed to the purchase of 6.8% shares in Komercijalna Banka by the Serbian Government, which amounted to EUR 43.7m. The shares were bought from 2 funds – DEG (from Germany) and Svedfond (from Sweden) which exercised their put option connected to the privatization tender of the state-owned bank.

In June, the most traded share (excluding block transactions) was Sojaprotein (EUR 3.81m), whose share price remained flat. Victoria Group, the majority owner continued with the purchase of remaining shares on the open market. You can read more about it here. Komercijalna Banka follows with EUR 0.92m, recording a share price increase of 5.32%. AERO comes next, with a turnover of EUR 0.4m, observing an increase of 4.77%.

When observing gainers of the BELEX 15 index, Komercijalna Banka observed the highest increase of 5.32%, followed by Jedinstvo (+5.26%). Next comes AERO which observed an increase of 4.77%.

Turning our attention to BELEX15, the index observed a decrease of 0.23%, representing a decrease for the second consecutive month. Meanwhile, the index recorded a decrease of 3.95% YTD.
