HNB Agrees on Establishing a Swap Line with ECB

The currency swap enables the exchange of HRK 2bn in Euros.

The Croatian National Bank (HNB) announced that it has agreed with the European Central Bank (ECB) for the establishment of a currency swap line, which will be available in case of need. The currency swap enables the exchange of HRK 2bn in Euros.

It will, if necessary, enable the CNB to provide the Croatian financial institutions with additional liquidity in Euro without using its own international reserves. The Croatian National Bank will keep the European Central Bank informed of the use of euro-denominated liquidity through currency swap. The exchange rate agreement will be active until 31 December 2020 and may be extended if necessary.
